Happy Fashion & Beauty Friday!

This week I am kicking off a 3 part series on how to dress for your body type! I will be covering all femme body types over the course of the

next few weeks but this week, I want to highlight 2: Triangle and Inverted Triangle
Have you identified your body type yet? If not, the guide below can be helpful as you continue to find clothes that work best for your body type.
No body type is “bad” it’s only a matter of how you dress for it!
How does one discover their body type:
Step 1: Measure Yourself!
This includes: Your Shoulders, Your Bust, Your Waist,Your Hips
Shoulders: Have someone help you measure the tip of one shoulder all the way around you. The measuring tape should be high up around your shoulders so it almost slips off
Bust: Pull the measuring tape taut across the fullest part of your bust and around your back. Don't pull the tape so taut that your breast start to squish!
Waist: Measure the smallest part of your natural waist, just above the belly button.
Hips: Start at one hip (below the bone) and wrap the tape measure around the largest part of your butt
Step 2: Find Your Shape!

Triangular body types often have a slightly larger midsection and a soft shoulder line. It is usually also categorized as the chest and shoulders areas are narrower than the hips and waist. Inverted Triangle body types are sometimes described as “the classic swimmer’s physique”: which includes a broad chest and then shoulders that taper down to a narrower waist and hips. This body type is considered a lower percentage of the population (around 5%). The goal is to balance the broader shoulder, chess, back with the narrower lower body.
Tip 1: Soften the broad shoulder line with soft, draping, and weighty fabrics.
Tip 2: Avoid wide necklines that broaden the shoulders and other strong shoulder details (eg shoulder pads)
Tip 3: Steer clear of patterns on your tops and scarves around your neck and shoulders.
Tip 4: Create the illusion of a waist with waist details
Tip 5: Select clothes that add volume to the lower body to widen the hips
Tip 6: Draw attention to your legs by wearing lighter, brighter colors or adding details
Tip 7: Keep away from skinny and tight trousers as well as narrowing hemlines that visually reduce the lower body
